Police reports state that Frank Garcia met up with Mary Silliman in the parking lot of a hospital where Mary worked. Garcia was beating her when Randal Norman and his friend stopped their car to help. Garcia shot Norman, then Silliman. Norman's friend was also shot, but survived and managed to drive away.
After the shooting, Garcia went to the home of a former co-worker, Kimberly Glatz, and held her, her husband Christopher, and their children hostage, telling them they had to pay him $25,000. Kimberly's 15-year-old daughter said that Garcia sent her and her 13-year-old brother to a bedroom. She then heard three gunshots. Garcia then came into the bedroom where the children were and pointed a gun at them, asking them if they wanted to live. He told them to stay in the room for 20 minutes, then left. When she came out of the room, she found her mother had a pillow over her head and had been shot. Her stepfather had been shot in the back. The daughter ran to a neighbor’s house and called for help.
NOTE: The CEO of the nursing home where Glatz and Garcia worked together for a few years also testified saying that Kimberly Glatz was paid $25,000 as part of a settlement, following a complaint Glatz filed against Garcia. The complaint alleged that Garcia had raped Glatz.
